Overview
Zappline, Inc. (“Zappline”, “we”, “us”) provides website and API speed and uptime monitoring. This policy covers our marketing site, dashboard, and APIs (together, the “Service”). It does not cover third party sites we link to.
Information we collect
Account information
When you sign up we collect your name, work email, and (for paid plans) billing details processed by our payment provider. We never see or store full card numbers.
Monitoring configuration
The URLs, endpoints, check intervals, thresholds, and alert destinations you configure. This is the data that lets the Service do its job.
Monitoring results
Response times, status codes, headers you ask us to assert on, certificate metadata, and the region each check ran from. We store this so you can see history and trends. We do not crawl, index, or retain the body content of your pages beyond what is needed to evaluate the checks you configured.
Usage and device data
Standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) and product analytics that tell us which features get used. See Cookies and analytics below.
How we use your information
- To run the checks, dashboards, and alerts you set up.
- To notify you when a line slows or drops, through the channels you choose.
- To bill paid plans and prevent fraud and abuse.
- To improve the Service and build new features.
- To respond to support requests and send essential service notices.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your monitoring data to train models or to advertise to you.
Cookies and analytics
We use a small number of cookies to keep you signed in and to remember preferences. For product analytics we use privacy friendly, cookieless measurement where possible. You can block non essential cookies in your browser without breaking core functionality.
Sharing and subprocessors
We share data only with vendors that help us run the Service (hosting, payments, email and alert delivery, error tracking), each under contract and only for that purpose. A current list of subprocessors lives on our Trust page. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
Data retention
Monitoring history is retained for the window of your plan (from 7 days up to 1 year). When you delete a monitor or close your account we remove the associated data within 30 days, except where we must keep records for legal or accounting reasons.
Security
We encrypt data in transit and at rest, enforce least privilege access internally, and review our practices regularly. More detail is on the Trust page. No system is perfectly secure, so we also commit to telling you promptly if something goes wrong (see our breach notification commitments there).
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. You can do most of this from your account settings, or write to us and we will help. We honor verified requests under the GDPR, UK GDPR, and CCPA / CPRA.
International transfers
Our probe network and infrastructure span multiple countries. Where we move personal data across borders we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
Children
The Service is for businesses and is not directed to anyone under 16.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date above. For material changes we will give notice in the product or by email.
